What up people! Hopefully you all have had a fantastic summer. My summer was crazy busy and life seems to be getting busier and busier......which is always a good thing in THIS industry. LOL But I have some crazy exciting news! I'm working on the new album as I type this blog entry to you. I'll actually have two projects coming out within the next three to four months. It maybe two official albums, or it may be a mixtape and an album. Either or, these projects will be the STANDARD by which all other hip-hop music will be judged (from then on). Like, remember when the Fugees came out with The Score? Remember when Wu-Tang Clan came out with Return of the 36 Chambers? Remember when Raekwon came out with that classic purple tape called Only Built For Cuban Linx? Well, this is the type of projects that I'm working on. In the upcoming months (and weeks), you'll definitely be hearing from me quite frequently. And the world will see why I am the "new face of hip-hop."
II'm officially getting ready for the summer!! I have some great shows booked and a lot of shows that I'm working on right now. I'm looking forward to seeing the country and performing in venues and places where I've never been. I'm also hitting the studio in the next couple of weeks to record some new music EXCLUSIVELY for myspace. Which means, I'm practically giving it away for free (free downloads for all ya'll who are FREE-LOADERS.....LOL). The music is going to be crazy.....lot's of surprises people....LOTS! I've also been picked up by 16 college radio stations, so anytime you start getting radio spins (mainstream or college) it's always a good thing. And three of these stations are in Canada.....so I guess I'm starting to go global, huh? I'll post the radio stations on this site so if they're near you, you can call them and let them know that you want to hear some El Prezdino. Peace!!! -Dino 5/29/08
The Roanoke show at Awful Arthur's a few weeks ago was CRAZY! It's been a few weeks now, but this is the first opportunity I've had to blog it. I want to thank Roanoke for showing me so much love. The show was bananas, and I had a blast. Big-ups to all the Marshall Alum that was in attendance, and Greg Roberts for a fun interview!! I appreciate Roanoke showing me love.....and you better believe that I'll be back!! I'm gearing up for several festivals and shows this summer that will be all over the place (Minnesota, South Carolina, Pennsylvania.....yeah I'm do it!! LOL). Check back in the next coming weeks, as I should have some big news about a few events I'll be performing at....... -Dino 5/10/08
The response I'm getting from the Me or Nothing album has been great!! I really want to thank all the many people who have contacted me via Myspace to tell me how incredible the album is. People ask all the time "how can you give something this good away for free?" Sometimes....the best things in life are FREE!! LOL I'm just glad I can. I'm glad that I'm in a position where I can give away good quality records that are absolutely free. I can't wait to hit the road this summer, I have some exciting shows lined-up (and at least 40 gigs I'm waiting to hear back from). So this truly will be a HOT summer, if you know what I mean? Me and my staff will start taking pictures and blogging videos from live gigs too. I couldn't do what I do without the support of my fans and friends. The album release party was BANANAS!! I appreciate everybody that came out to support El Prezidino and get behind the best FREE album of the year Me Or Nothing. The album release party/concert took place in Silver Springs, MD, and with people traveling from South Philly, Virginia Beach, Richmond, Woodbridge/Stafford, and Baltimore (to name a few places where attendees traveled from) it's an understatement to say that I was "feeling the love." For people to travel from three and four hours away just to see me perform, it really means a lot. The party was crazy, it took me a whole day just to recover!! Shout out to Von Vargas for opening the concert up, and big ups to Baltimore's DJ Craig for holding me down on the turntables. To all my peoples that came out and partied with me the whole night..........I LOVE YOU BEYOND WORDS!! And don't for get to PUSH ME, PUSH ME!! Sometimes in this industry you wonder about actually "making it". Getting the record deal, the wonderful financial perks, the fame, the glory, etc. I get so consumed with reaching my own personal goals that I don't think about how far I've actually came in my career. And how so many people never even make it this far. I have a God-giving ability to create songs and music that does more than make people dance, or think, or just say "that was hot!" I can actually INSPIRE and ENCOURAGE. As we all know in today's music industry, not many people can say that. Honestly, I feel that God is saying "this IS when you make it." --- Dino 2/27/08
